When my daughter missed two days of school recently with high fever and stomach cramps I figured we were all in line for whatever bug she'd caught. But we all remained well. So when I ran across the news item reporting samonella in Peter Pan peanut butter I ran upstairs to check our jar. Sure enough--we had the tainted numbers. What are the odds? Maybe I should start buying lottery tickets and opening those letters from Ed McMahon.

yaay, lucky us, & poor rabbit....
lawsuit anyone? Perhaps you should be standing line for that, too. Glad she's okay.
Ohmygosh, Allison! Me, too!! I think I'm going to blog about it, too. We will be twins. Kind of like wearing matching outfits. Same photo. Different serial number (except the 1st four numbers, of course).
We've not eaten any PB recently, so I'm not sure if anyone got an upset stomach or not!
Karen,
Why would I need to do that? ConAgra has already graciously offered to send me a whole new jar if I send in my lid. What a bargain--they won't depreciate my eaten portion! Do you think I should press for some strawberry jam? Or at least reimbursement of my postage?
Dee,
Just don't get yer chocolate in my peanut butter!
What a drag that she got sick from it. Is she feeling any better? I hope it didn't last long...(wonder if she'll hate peanut butter now.)
I threw two jars of it away as soon as I saw the numbers...and later realized I could have gotten reimbursed somehow....
but I'm glad we hadn't eaten any.
Given that this isn't the first time for conagra, I think you should press for more. They are repeat offenders. Myself, I've always been a Jiff fan. Choosy mothers alway choose Jiff!
give the rabbit a kiss on her belly. tell her that its not peanut butter's fault, its the mean corporations! damn you peter pan!!!
I'm glad your daughter is ok (or will be soon)! Yikes. Thankfully I've been enjoying Central Market natural peanut butter recently...
