Allison, Your friend and former neighbor Jo Anne sent me a link to "Something in my eye." What a beautiful, breathtaking poem. I very much enjoyed it and wanted to say thanks.
I met you through today's poem--the line and stanza breaks, the images are gorgeous. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work. Congratulations.

ok my long lost friend "alley!" I just spent a lazy afternoon reading your beautiful poem, visiting your life in your blog! I have missed our talks from "jr. high." then our deep thoughts and dreams from our high school years (in my yellow datsun pickup....) and just finding time to catch up over the years.... You look exactly the same in your picture and I can't wait to see you this week.... talk to you soon.

My dear Allison,
Your poem is so lovely, such a poignant word portrait of life. It made me miss you so much I could cry.
